How to play: Click any of the pictures to hear the word. When you think you know the words, click either the first arrow or the second arrow.
The first arrow lets you take as long as you want to find the picture and try as many times as necessary.
The second arrow gives you just one chance to find the picture.
The third arrow makes the game timed: you have to answer quickly to claim the square.
Listen to the word that is spoken, then click a matching square. If there are two matching squares click the one that helps you to get 5 in a row. When you get 5 in a row, either up, down, or diagonally, you win. You can click one of the arrows to play again.
What is learned: This activity helps the student learn vocabulary. When you play with the timer, you do not have time to mentally translate the words to your native language. You have to think in the language that you are learning. Getting the most out of the activity: Say the words as you click each picture. Play with the timer to force yourself to think in the language you are learning. Group activities: Print out the page, then click your browsers refresh button to rearrange the pictures. Print out enough pages for all of the students, and another to cut up. Cut up one of the pages into squares and put the pieces in a paper bag. One child gets to draw a picture out of the bag and say the word that matches the picture. Don't let the other students see the picture that is selected, they have to mark the square based on the word they hear.
Hoe werkt het: klik op één van de afbeeldingen om het woord te horen. Wanneer je denkt dat je het woord kent, klik je op de eerste pijl of op de tweede pijl. De eerste pijl geeft je de mogelijkheid om de tijd zolang als je wil te gebruiken en om zo vaak als je wil te proberen. De tweede pijl geeft je maar één kans om de afbeelding te vinden. De derde pijl maakt er een tijdsspel van: je moet zo snel mogelijk op het juiste vierkantje klikken. Luister naar het woord, klik dan op het overeenstemmende vierkantje. Indien er 2 mogelijke antwoorden zijn, klik dan op het vierkantje dat je helpt om een lijn te vormen met 5 vierkantjes. Je wint wanneer je 5 vierkantjes op een rij hebt, dat kan vertikaal, horizontaal of diagonaal zijn. Om nog eens te spelen kan je op één van de pijlen klikken. Wat leer je: deze oefening helpt de leerling om woordenschat te leren. Wanneer je met de timer speelt, heb je geen tijd om in je hoofd de woorden te vertalen naar je moedertaal. Je moet denken in de taal die je aan het leren bent. Haal zoveel mogelijk uit de activiteit: zeg de woorden luidop nadat je op de afbeelding klikt. Speel met de timer zodat je genoodzaakt bent om te denken in de taal die je leert. Groepsactiviteiten: print de pagina, klik dan op ‘Pagina vernieuwen’ om de afbeeldingen te herschikken. Print voldoende pagina’s voor alle leerlingen en één om te verknippen. Verknip één blad in vierkantjes en leg de papiertjes in een zak. Laat één kind een vierkantje kiezen uit de zak en laat het kind het woord uitspreken. Toon de gekozen afbeelding zeker niet aan de andere leerlingen. De overige leerlingen moeten een kruis zetten op het woord dat ze horen.
