Learning to communicate in a new language should be fun, not boring or frustrating. Our language programs start with simple phrases. Next you will play some games to learn some vocabulary, and then those words are used in sentences. A variety of activities and games makes it fun so that you never get bored. There are also games and activities designed especially for children so the whole family can learn together.

Try the free introductory lessons to see how much fun learning a language can be!

Hello-World uses the immersion method. Don't worry too much about translating to English. You know what a piñata, a wok, ravioli are without translating to English. When you hear these words you can mentally picture the object. That is exactly how you want to know the language that you are learning.

Most of the activities have a link to a help file and the English equivalent. The English is not always exactly the same as the language you are learning. The names of the people are different, and the times that they wake up and go to work may be different.

You can start with the lessons, but don't be afraid to do an activity many times or out of order. Try to repeat each word that you hear and record your own voice to compare it to the native speakers.

As your language skills improve, try listening to a radio station or watch TV in the language that you are learning. Many of your favorite DVDs can be played in other languages. This is especially true of children's DVDs.
