A transitive verb requires a direct object. Change
each intransitive to transitive using the word shown. Use the same tense!
I sat on the newspaper. (book)
I lay on the bed. (clothes)
Jim was sitting on the bench. (equipment)
Joe lay down. (flowers)
Karen sat on the floor. (the lamp)
Sam will sit on the bed. (suitcase)
I was lying on the bed when the lights went out. (clothes)
Change each transitive to intransitive. Use the
same tense!
The cat laid the mouse at my feet.
I set the book on the chair.
I will lay the dress on the couch.
Bob set the books next to Mary.
